Envelope packaging

I have designed some envelopes ready for print to package India's prints when mailing out to clients and customers. They will be digitally printed onto the GFSmith stone stock that we ordered. I have incorporated her illustrations into the design, using the same surface pattern to correspond with her promo packs, and also some of the character designs she has been currently working on. I have also produced some promo packs for her to give out at the end of year shows and new designers, which I have kept to the same colour scheme and pattern as the envelopes to keep the range consistent.

Screenprints

I have added colour to two of my japanese illustrations. I have mocked them up so that I can visualise what they are going to look like printed onto wood. I have also done some colour separations and exposed one of my screens.

I have finished my second illustration from the Japanese series. This will also be screenprinted, although I don't think I have enough time to do another intaglio print.

Signed off designs

This week me and Marty have been working like mad to get the yearbook finalised and signed off by the programme tutor. We printed a lot of proofs and to scale examples, but they kept on coming back with more requests for changes. They have also been asking for stock samples, but we have been unable to get our hands on any, but we have done our best to describe the type of stock and show similar samples. We finally managed to get it signed off and we have managed to get it sent to marketing to get okayed by them. One brief down!

The final logo is now going to be a black foil, and the girls have asked to have the triangles over lapping over the white. We prefer keeping it simple by having colour on just the photos, but got to do what the client wants!

End of year show proposal

I have decided to use my Japanese illustrations for my end of year show proposal. I intend to also design some wallpapers, which will add to the range.
I intend to wallpaper the wooden board, make a wooden frame and mount the wooden screenprints on top.

New textures

Following the meeting me, Marty and Matt had on Friday, I have made some new textures for the yearbook. Rather than just using a colour filter over the whole images, I have tried just incorporating the colour schemes into the images provided. I have passed them on to Marty to add to the layout.

 

Chinese calligraphy

I have decided to have a go at some calligraphy to add to my illustrations. I have borrowed a traditional Chinese calligraphy set from a friend.

Image developement

We have met with the girls and discussed the images on the yearbook. None of us are entirely happy with these so we have tried some variations. However, we're not sure about using a filter over the whole image as it loses quality.

We asked the girls for some more images as the ones we currently have don't give us a lot to work with. They got straight back to us with loads of great photographs. Instead of using a colour filter, I had the idea of just enhancing sections of the image so that it corresponds more with the existing colour scheme. Here are the ones we've decided to work with.
