Screenprints
I have added colour to two of my japanese illustrations. I have mocked them up so that I can visualise what they are going to look like printed onto wood. I have also done some colour separations and exposed one of my screens.

Dragons head, snakes tail
I have finished my second illustration from the Japanese series. This will also be screenprinted, although I don't think I have enough time to do another intaglio print.

End of year show proposal
I have decided to use my Japanese illustrations for my end of year show proposal. I intend to also design some wallpapers, which will add to the range.
I intend to wallpaper the wooden board, make a wooden frame and mount the wooden screenprints on top.

Chinese calligraphy
I have decided to have a go at some calligraphy to add to my illustrations. I have borrowed a traditional Chinese calligraphy set from a friend.

Intaglio
I have decided to try out some intaglio printing, and as I have finished the first of my Japanese image series I decided to use my illustration 'one stone, two birds'. It took a very long time to create the plate especially as I scratched the design on by hand, and as the design has some very fine lines close together I needed to aquatint it.

One stone, two birds
I have completed the first of my Japanese illustrations. I have developed my idea of using sayings derived from Japanese proverbs, the first being one stone, two birds. I intend to screenprint this design, but first I might try some intaglio printing.

Kenichi Yokono
Yokono is a Japanese illustrator that specialises in relief and woodblock prints. His illustrative style doesn't necessarily reflect the style of traditional Japanese art, but he has used the technique and merged it with his own style.
